This famous marathon is scheduled to take place on 8th next year in Orlando, Florida giving you enough training period. About 19000-20000 people finish the race every year. I love this marathon as you get to tour the 4 Walt Disney theme parks and also meet some of its famous characters on the way.
It starts early morning thus avoiding the afternoon heat and also providing you enough time to rest and celebrate your finish or even victory.
Flying Pig marathon
Ohio is known for its pork industry and thus the marathon’s name signifies it. It is going to take place in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 1, 2016. Last year about 1400 people finished the race. As compared to other marathons it is slightly short.
In the first 4-5 miles you will have to tackle hills with a slight ascent after 6 and a downhill after 10-11 miles and finally ends close to the city’s amazing waterfront.
Little Rock marathon
It will take place in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 6th this year and has about 2000-3000 finishers. The biggest attraction of this marathon is its big winner’s medal and the best part is you get rewarded even if you don’t finish.
The race has a time limit of 8 hours. After 15-16 miles you come across some hills and since the Arkansas River is close by you get amazing views and a perfect weather to race.
Vermont City marathon
Due to take place in Burlington, Vermont on the 29th of May this marathon has about 2000 finishers. A race not just for you but for your crew and other viewers too as all racers can be viewed about 4 times from the same spot and with a slight walk about 10-11 times.
The view during the race is quite awesome as there are hills and you also pass the Lake Champlain and Adirondacks.
The best part about this marathon due to take place in Denver, Colorado on May 15th, 2016 is the track itself. The race has diversions near Mike High Stadium and goes through a firehouse and Sloan Lake before finishing at City Park.
The race also includes of the one of the hotspots in Denver which is the Colfax Avenue which is where the Marathon gets its name from.
